I'm working on a series of fine art ink drawings where I apply the ink using natural objects found within close proximity of the tree. India ink was applied using sticks, rocks, flowers, etc. while the ink wash is applied using a bamboo brush. My concept for this series is to experiment with primitive objects in order to create something unique. Depending on the objects that I find, the resulting drawing will often have wildly different aesthetics as the materials apply the ink in unpredictable ways. My attempt to create art using primitive materials is an effort to be more observant of our natural surroundings and remind the viewer of our common humanity.
